Context #
A registration drawing is a drawing or floor plan on which registrations (e.g. supervision, defects, preregistrations or QA items) are shown as coloured markers directly on the drawing. There are two places in Ajour from which a registration drawing can be printed: from the AjourInspect & QA module, where the drawing is printed with the registered markers shown on the drawing, or from AjourBox, where the drawing file itself can be opened and printed as an ordinary document.
Relevance #
This guide is relevant when you need a physical or digital printout of a registration drawing, e.g. for use at a construction meeting, as documentation for a third party, or for an internal overview of where the registrations are placed on a drawing.
Prerequisites and requirements #
- You must have access to the relevant project in Ajour.
- At least one registration drawing must be uploaded on the project, and registrations must be linked to it if you want to print the markers via AjourInspect & QA.
- You must have permissions to access both AjourInspect & QA and AjourBox, depending on which method you choose.
Print via AjourInspect & QA #
Click “AjourInspect & QA” in the top navigation menu.
Select the relevant registration type at the top, e.g. “Supervisory”, “Project”, “Defect”, “Preregistration” or “QA”, depending on which registrations you want to see on the drawing.
Select the relevant project in the “Project” dropdown field. If the project is divided into subprojects, you can narrow it down further in the dropdown fields below.
Select the desired drawing in the right-hand column under “Registration drawings”.
Note: The registrations are shown as coloured dots directly on the selected drawing and can be filtered by several different parameters, e.g. status, category, receiver or responsible, so that only the desired registrations are shown before the drawing is printed.
Click “Print” in the top right corner to open the “Shown coordinates” view. It shows the drawing with the markers of the selected registrations plotted onto the drawing.
Use the zoom buttons on the left if you want to enlarge, reduce or adjust the view of the drawing before you print.
Click “Print” at the bottom if you want a standard printout, or “Print large” for a larger printout of the drawing.
Tip: Select “Print large” for detailed drawings with many registrations, so that the markers remain clear on the final printout.
A message confirms that the report has been registered and queued for generation.
Note: Generation may take a moment depending on the size of the drawing and the number of registrations.
Click the notification bell icon in the top navigation menu when the report is ready. Click the download icon next to the report to retrieve the finished printout.
Print via AjourBox #
Click “AjourBox” in the top navigation menu.
Select the relevant project in the dropdown field at the top left.
Find the section “Blueprints on project” in the left-hand column. It shows a folder structure with the drawings divided by block or area, as well as the number of registrations on each.
Select the desired drawing to display the associated files in the middle column.
Select the relevant file in the file overview. An information panel opens on the right with details about the file, including revision, version, status, update date, file name and a small preview of the drawing.
Note: The preview does not necessarily show the entire document.
Click the icon (square with an arrow in it) next to the preview to open the file in full view. The file then opens in Ajour Document Viewer.
Click the menu icon (the three horizontal lines) in the top left corner of the document view.
Select “Print” in the drop-down menu that opens.
Set the desired print settings in the “Print Settings” dialog box:
- Pages to print: Choose between “All”, “Current Page”, “Current View” or “Specify Pages”
- Include comments: Tick if comments on the document should be included in the printout
- Include annotations: Tick if annotations on the document should be included in the printout
- Print Grayscale: Tick if the printout should be in greyscale
- Print Quality: Select the desired print quality, e.g. “Normal”
- Watermark: Click “Add New” if you want to add a watermark to the printout
Click “Print” to complete the printing with the selected settings.
Next steps #
- Save the downloaded printout in the relevant folder in AjourBox if it is to be shared with other project participants.
- Filter the registrations further in AjourInspect & QA if the printout should focus on a specific status or category of registrations.
