CONTEXT #
This guide describes how to upload a .zip file to a folder in the AjourBox module in EG Ajour (web). The guide also shows how to have the system automatically extract the contents of the file on upload.
RELEVANCE #
You need this guide when you want to share several files together in a project folder and want the system to extract them into a folder structure itself, instead of creating the folders and uploading the files one by one.
PREREQUISITES AND REQUIREMENTS #
- You must have access to the project and the relevant module (AjourBox)
- You must have permissions to upload files in the selected folder
- You must have permissions to create folders in the project’s AjourBox
- You must have a .zip file ready on your computer
GUIDE (step by step) #
Step 1: Navigate to the folder in the folder tree where you want to upload the file.
Step 2: Click the Upload files button at the top of the file overview. A window titled “Upload files to AjourBox” opens.
Step 3: Click the browse link in the upload window (alternatively, you can drag the file directly into the field).
Step 4: In the file window that opens, find your .zip file, select it and click Open.
Step 5: The file is now shown as a ZIP icon in the upload window with the file name below it. If relevant, you can add a description in the “Input description” field.
Please note: The Extract checkbox is selected by default. When it is selected, the system automatically extracts the contents of the .zip file to a new folder in the folder tree once the upload is complete. Clear the checkbox if you would rather upload the .zip file as a single file.
Step 6: Click Start upload at the bottom right of the window.
Step 7: The upload window closes automatically when the upload is complete. If “Extract” is selected, you can see a new folder in the folder tree with the same name as the .zip file, containing the extracted folders and any files.
NEXT STEPS #
- Open the new folder to check that all files have been extracted correctly
- If needed, add descriptions or metadata to the individual extracted files
- See the guide on folder management if you want to rename or move the new folder
