# Upload of .zip file in AjourBox

CONTEXT

This guide describes how to upload a .zip file to a folder in the AjourBox module in EG Ajour (web). The guide also shows how to have the system automatically extract the contents of the file on upload.

RELEVANCE

You need this guide when you want to share several files together in a project folder and want the system to extract them into a folder structure itself, instead of creating the folders and uploading the files one by one.

PREREQUISITES AND REQUIREMENTS

You must have access to the project and the relevant module (AjourBox)

You must have permissions to upload files in the selected folder

You must have permissions to create folders in the project's AjourBox

You must have a .zip file ready on your computer

GUIDE (step by step)

Step 1: Navigate to the folder in the folder tree where you want to upload the file.

Step 2: Click the Upload files button at the top of the file overview. A window titled "Upload files to AjourBox" opens.

Step 3: Click the browse link in the upload window (alternatively, you can drag the file directly into the field).

Step 4: In the file window that opens, find your .zip file, select it and click Open.

Step 5: The file is now shown as a ZIP icon in the upload window with the file name below it. If relevant, you can add a description in the "Input description" field.

Please note: The Extract checkbox is selected by default. When it is selected, the system automatically extracts the contents of the .zip file to a new folder in the folder tree once the upload is complete. Clear the checkbox if you would rather upload the .zip file as a single file.

Step 6: Click Start upload at the bottom right of the window.

Step 7: The upload window closes automatically when the upload is complete. If "Extract" is selected, you can see a new folder in the folder tree with the same name as the .zip file, containing the extracted folders and any files.

NEXT STEPS

Open the new folder to check that all files have been extracted correctly

If needed, add descriptions or metadata to the individual extracted files

See the guide on folder management if you want to rename or move the new folder
