CONTEXT #
This guide describes how to create a new registration drawing in the Inspect & QA app from an image – either taken with the device’s camera or selected from the device’s gallery. A registration drawing works as a visual plan on which you can subsequently place and create registrations.
RELEVANCE #
You need this guide when there is not already a drawing for the area or building element you are going to register defects or other matters on. By creating a registration drawing from a photo, you can take a photo of e.g. a physical floor plan and mark exactly where on the image a given registration belongs, instead of only creating registrations in a list without a visual reference.
PREREQUISITES AND REQUIREMENTS #
- You must have access to the project and the folder/category where the drawing is to be created
- You must have the permission “Edit registration drawings” under AjourBox > Project Folders in the project permissions (gives access to upload and delete registration drawings on the project)
- Your device must have an internet connection, as the drawing is created online
- You must have allowed camera and/or gallery access for the app
- You must have an image ready on which the drawing is to be based (new photo or existing image from the device)
GUIDE (step by step) #
Step 1: Navigate to the folder or category in the project where the registration drawing is to be created.
Step 2: Tap Drawing in the bottom menu.
Step 3: The “Create blueprint” dialog box opens. Enter a name for the drawing in the Name field.
Step 4: Tap the camera icon to take a new photo, or tap “… or select image from device” to select an existing image from your device’s gallery.
Step 5: If you take a new photo, the device’s camera opens. Take the photo and confirm by tapping Use Photo, or tap Retake if you want to take the photo again.
Step 6: You return to the “Create blueprint” dialog box, where the image is now shown as a thumbnail next to the “… or select image from device” field.
Step 7: Tap Save.
Please note: Make sure your device has an internet connection when you create registration drawings. Without an internet connection, the drawing cannot be saved.
Step 8: The drawing is created, and you return to the folder overview. The new registration drawing now appears in the list with the name you entered.
NEXT STEPS #
- Add registrations directly on the new registration drawing by tapping the desired spot on the image
- Synchronize your device to save the drawing and any registrations on your Ajour server
- Rename or organize the drawing further if the project’s structure requires it
