CONTEXT #
This guide describes the special Tablet mode in the EG Ajour app. Tablet mode is a device setting that changes the layout of the app on a tablet, so that the list, the registration drawing and the detail panel for a registration can be shown side by side in several columns, instead of as separate screens one after another.
RELEVANCE #
When you work on a tablet, Tablet mode gives you a better overview because you can see several parts of
the app at the same time. It is especially useful when you need to navigate in a project folder, find a registration drawing and view or edit a registration, without having to switch back and forth between screens, as you otherwise have to do on a phone.
PREREQUISITES AND REQUIREMENTS #
- You need a tablet (e.g. an iPad) to activate and benefit from Tablet mode.
- You must have access to the app’s Settings.
- Tablet mode is a device setting and only applies to the tablet on which you activate it.
- Tablet mode does not apply to smartphones.
GUIDE (step by step) #
Step 1: Open the menu by tapping the menu icon in the top left corner.
Step 2: Select Settings in the menu.
Step 3: Tap Device Mode in the list of settings.
Step 4: Under the heading Tablet mode, select On to activate Tablet mode. Select Off if you want to deactivate it again.
Note: The Device Mode screen also contains the setting Dark Mode (On, Off or System). This setting is not part of Tablet mode and does not affect the layout described in this guide.
Step 5: Navigate back to your project and select a folder or registration drawing in the list. The drawing is now shown in the area to the right of the list.
Step 6: Tap the split-screen icon (the square icon) at the top of the screen to split the screen. Tap the icon again to show the registration drawing in full screen again.
When you have activated split screen, you get access to the following functionality:
- The list and the registration drawing can be shown at the same time side by side, or the list can be hidden with the split-screen icon, so that the drawing fills the whole screen.
- When you tap a registration on the drawing, the details of the registration open in an extra column to the right of the drawing, so that the list, the drawing and the details are shown at the same time.
- View both project folders and registration drawings, or the registration drawing and the list of all registrations, at the same time
NEXT STEPS #
- See the general app guides for creating and editing registrations, which apply regardless of whether Tablet mode is turned on or off.
- Try turning Tablet mode off to compare with the standard layout on a tablet.
