# Synchronization conflicts in the EG Ajour app

CONTEXT

This guide describes the most common error messages (synchronization conflicts) you may experience when you create, edit or synchronize registrations between the app and the web. The conflicts occur when the app tries to synchronize data that has been changed on the web in the meantime.

RELEVANCE

You will typically need this guide if:

Your app has not been synchronized for a while

Data you depend on (users, categories, registration drawings or checklists) has been changed, moved or deleted on the web while your app was offline

A registration on your app refers to data that is no longer valid

HOW TO FIND THE RIGHT SOLUTION

Step 1: Tap Menu

Step 2: Tap the menu function Synchronization conflicts

Step 3: Tap "Fix" to get more information about the conflict

Step 4: Read the exact error message displayed in the app.

Step 5: Find the error message in the list "Known synchronization conflicts" below.

Step 6: Follow the solution steps under the error in question.

Tip: Many of these errors occur because data has been changed on the web without your app having been synchronized since. Always try to synchronize the app first - in some cases this solves the problem on its own, without you having to do anything further.

KNOWN SYNCHRONIZATION CONFLICTS AND SOLUTIONS

User does not belong to the selected company (AssignmentUsersMustBeFromSelectedCompany) You have assigned a user to the registration who no longer belongs to the company the registration is linked to. Review the assigned users, and replace those that do not match the company. See the detailed example at the bottom of this guide.

The registration drawing does not exist (BlueprintMustExist) The registration refers to a registration drawing that is either missing or deactivated. Check on the web that the relevant drawing exists and is set to active before you try again.

A drawing is already attached (CannotAttachBlueprintWhenOneIsAlreadyAttached) You are trying to attach a registration drawing to a registration that already has one linked. Only one drawing can be attached at a time - detach the existing drawing first if you want to replace it.

Checklist does not match the category (ChecklistEntriesMustMatchCategorizationOfRegistration) The checkpoints in the checklist do not fit the selected category. Review your category, and make sure the checklist matches it.

The registration has been rejected (RejectedRegistration) Your new registration has been rejected because it refers to data - a group, user, category or checklist - that no longer exists on the web. Find out which part is missing, and fix it before you send the registration again.

Invalid category group (InvalidCategoryGroupIdConstraint) The selected category group is invalid or deleted. Select a valid, active category group instead.

Category does not match the category group (InvalidCategoryIdForSpecifiedCategoryGroupId) The selected category does not belong to the selected category group. Adjust your choices so that the category and category group match.

The registration cannot be edited (status "Completed") (Registration Status Restriction) You are trying to edit a registration with the status "Completed". First remove the status, and then make your edits.

Important: If you cannot solve the conflict yourself (e.g. because a registration drawing or category has been deleted by an administrator), you must contact your system administrator, who has access to restore or recreate the missing data on the web.

DETAILED EXAMPLE: The "User not found" conflict

This conflict occurs when you have assigned several recipients to a registration on the app, but one of them has in the meantime been moved to another company on the web. Because all recipients must belong to the same company, the system blocks the synchronization.

You will see the following message in the app:

"User not found: The selected user is not associated with the assigned company. Please either assign a different user or choose yourself to proceed."

You then have two options:

Assign to me - The conflicting recipient is replaced with your own user, and the registration is synchronized immediately. Select this option if you are yourself a valid recipient on the registration.

Assign to other - You instead select another valid recipient from the correct company. Select this option if you are not the right recipient yourself.

NEXT STEPS

Synchronize the app again when the conflict has been resolved, to confirm that the registration goes through

Contact your system administrator if the conflict is caused by data that only an administrator can correct

Contact support if you have no options for resolving the conflict
